The Cowboys have lost two of their last three games, most recently falling to the 49ers in a 42-10 drubbing on Sunday Night Football. Meanwhile, the Chargers rebounded from an 0-2 start with back-to-back wins over the Vikings and Raiders.
Despite owning the edge in momentum and playing on home turf, LA is a 1.5-point underdog on DraftKings. The Chargers also have an advantage on the injury front, as Austin Ekeler will play for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 1. For the Cowboys, RB Tony Pollard is “questionable” with a shoulder injury.
This game should boil down to LA’s high-powered offense against Dallas’ stout pass rush. Without Ekeler for three of their opening four games, QB Justin Herbert has the Chargers sitting third and fifth in yards and points per game. Conversely, elite edge rusher Micah Parsons leads a defense that sits seventh in average yards, eighth in points, and third in takeaways.
Dak Prescott also needs a bounce-back effort. After throwing three interceptions last weekend, Dak will try to air the ball out against the Chargers’ league-worst pass defense. If Prescott can find his groove and the defense does enough to contain Herbert and Ekeler, the Cowboys should take care of business.
