At the end of the day, you win the Kelly Cup by pulling off comebacks and doing whatever you need to do to win — and the Eagles did just that in Game 3 against the Wichita Thunder.

After a scoreless first period, the Thunder fond themselves up 2-0 with both of the goals coming less than a minute apart.

That’s where the Eagles would begin their comeback story, with Gabriel Verpaist snapping a shot past the Thunder goalie to cut the Thunder lead to one.

Shortly afterward, the Eagles came into the Thunder zone on a 2-on-1, with Ryan Harrison converting on a rebound in front of the net to tie the game.

The Eagles picked up where they left off, as captain Matt Garbowsky came in on a breakaway, beating the Thunder goalie to give the Eagles the lead.

To close the game, J.C. Beaudin notched a goal of his own — giving the Eagles the 4-2 victory, and extending the Eagles series lead over the Thunder, 3-0.

The Eagles look to complete their sweep of the Wichita Thunder on Friday, with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center.
