4. Rolando McClain

Broncos' next inside linebacker

EXPERIENCE: 5 years     DRAFT: 1st round (8th overall) out of Alabama

CAREER STARTS: 61     HONORS: None

’15 CAP HIT: $2.6 M     PREDICTED ’16 CAP HIT: $4-5 M

LAST YEAR: 2 sacks; 80 total tackles; 1 interception; 1 touchdown

BEST YEAR: 1 sack; 87 total tackles; 2 interceptions; 1 forced fumble (’14)

WHY THE BRONCOS COULD BE INTERESTED: If the NFL was based entirely on talent, McClain should probably be first on the list. That No. 8 overall selection looks shocking now, but he was worth it at the time.

Unfortunately, character is hard to predict.

Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that McClain retired at the age of 23, only to sign with Dallas after a year out of the league in 2014. For the Broncos, or anyone else bringing McClain in, the hope would be that he’s sorted through his issues, but no one can be sure.

If he were able to keep his head on straight, though, it would be one heck of a pickup. Again, the guy is still just 26 years old.
