Training camp has just begun, but Broncos fans are already out in full force. Even after missing the playoffs last year for the first time since 2010, the fanaticism was difficult to ignore on the first day of training camp. The Broncos fever that has engulfed Denver for decades is still on display, and players are noticing.

Players from both sides of the ball commented on the fan support at UCHealth Training Center. Here’s what they had to say, courtesy of Broncos media relations.

Quarterback Paxton Lynch

“It was kind of exciting for all of us to be able to come out here in front of the fans who showed up today and brought great energy.”

Nose Tackle Domata Peko

“Shout out to Broncos Country. They’re out here cheering for us and that’s why we play the game. We play for them. It’s exciting to be here in Denver to play for a great organization.”

Quarterback Trevor Siemian

“It’s incredible. We were throwing routes on air and you’d think we won the Super Bowl. It’s cool. It’s awesome to see our fans out there. It’s exciting for us to get back and it’s cool to see them kind of match our excitement getting back that first day.”

Running back C.J. Anderson

“I just feel good to be back. I get the energy from the fans and I’m back out here with the guys. I haven’t practiced in a very long time, so it just felt good to get out here and run around.”

Running Back De’Angelo Henderson

“I never had fans at practice before so that’s pretty cool to have them out here. I’m never nervous. (Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs) Coach ‘E’ (Eric Studesville) does a good job at preparing all of us, so I’m not nervous.”
