Baseball generally is a game of low scoring and low hitting, however, when two potent offenses are put against each other there is a chance for high totals. That is exactly what happened when Dodge City Community College Conquistadors and USC-Sumter Fire Ants laced up the cleats.

Those cleats needed to be laced up for this game as the first inning had four total runs in it. The offense for both teams didn’t stop till the end of the game, which saw Dodge City win 23-11. Eliminating USC-Sumter from the 2015 NJCAA D1 World Series, their first appearance. The Conquistadors scored in all, but one inning the 6th. Dodge City had four players with three or more runs batted in. Every time the Conquistadors tried to pull away USC-Sumter found a way to score, keeping them out of the run rule situation. The Fire Ants kept the game going all the way to the 9th. Dodge City had 23 runs on 23 hits and USC-Sumter had 11 runs on 19 hits.

The big bat for the Conquistadors Josh Williams, who hits two home runs in the game, on a three for five game at the plate. Other Conquistadors with three or more runs batted in: Frankie Valle 3, Leno Ramirez 4, Josh Williams 3, and Colbey Madewell 4. Dodge City put in a complete effort at the plate as a team.

Dodge City moves on to plays San Jacinto-North in the losers bracket. USC-Sumter loses getting eliminated in their first appearance to the tournament. USC-Sumter finishes the season 42-21.
