If it wasn’t clear enough already, Nikola Jokić is the best basketball player in the world.

On the latest episode of the Pickaxe and Roll Podcast, Ryan Blackburn discusses the Denver Nuggets 134-116 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans to improve to 7-1 on the season, the best record in the NBA.

Nikola Jokic was dominant once again with 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists in his minutes, and the Nuggets thrived once again while he was on the court. Ryan discusses how the Nuggets played such great basketball with Jokic at the center of the action, even though they trailed at 20 at one point of the game.

Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Julian Strawther also all stepped up to fill the gaps left by the injury to Jamal Murray. Strawther had a career high with 21 points and played a great game. Ryan discusses the starters, the bench, and what we learned from Denver’s first game without their All-Star caliber point guard.
