The Colorado Rapids announced Friday the trade of mid-fielder Marlon Hairston to the Houston Dynamo for $175,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) payable $125,000 in 2019 and $50,000 in 2020.

Hairston departs the club after spending the last five seasons with the Rapids.

The Jackson, Mississippi native originally joined Colorado after being selected by the Rapids as the 12th overall pick of the 2014 MLS Super Draft.

“We want to thank Marlon for five great seasons,” Rapids executive vice president & general manager, Pádraig Smith. “He is a top professional on and off the pitch and we wish him all the best in this next step of his career.”
Hairston has played his entire MLS career with Colorado and amassed 95 appearances, 68 from the start, bagging seven goals and adding 13 assists in that time frame.
