Nate Robinson‘s NBA career may be coming to an end, but his NFL career could just be getting started.

Earlier today, in a video produced by The Lead Sports, Robinson announced that he will be beginning his transition to the NFL.

Robinson, a 5-foot-9 point guard who has spent the last decade in the NBA, is an athletic freak. At the University of Washington, he excelled at both football and basketball, and in the NBA, despite his height, he became the first player to ever win three Slam Dunk Contests.

As a basketball player, Robinson has been defying the odds for years. The Slam Dunk Contests are one thing, but Robinson is one of the few sub-6-foot players to last 10-plus years in the league. As a football player, though, Robinson would actually be the prototypical size, at least more so than in the NBA.

Is it too late for Robinson to transition over to the NFL? We’ll see. But he’s not afraid of defying the odds.
