Five years ago, Peyton Manning chose Denver as the place he wanted to come to end his career; this offseason, Tony Romo may look to do the same.
With Dak Prescott taking over the role of franchise quarterback, Romo no longer has much of a future in Dallas, at least as the starting quarterback, and the Cowboys will likely look to send him off to greener pastures once the season comes to an end. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Romo will have plenty of say in where he goes, and he’s targeting the Denver Broncos.

Obviously, this doesn’t help the Broncos much now, but if Elway comes out of the 2016 season feeling Paxton Lynch needs another year of development, Romo would be a huge get in the offseason — if he’s healthy.
Rapoport, though, did acknowledge that the 36-year-old quarterback does have another option.

Time will tell. One thing we know for sure is that John Elway is the king of free agency, and a move like this would be right up his alley.
