Betting on golf can be tricky at times. But when it comes to the Masters, there’s no reason not to get in on the action. It’s like passing up on wagers when it comes to the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup or World Series. This is the marquee golf event of the year and every online sports book has plenty of betting options that can appeal to sports fans.

The staff at Mile High Sports certainly has some thoughts when it comes to wagers that have a decent shot of paying off this weekend.

Below is a quick rundown of which bets the staff could take some flyers on as they watch the action unfold at Augusta National.

Nate Lundy

Tiger Woods to make the cut (-115 at DraftKings). The field at The Masters is small so it’s a bit easier to make the cut than other tournaments. As long as he doesn’t fall apart physically he should be there on Saturday.

Favorite winner bets –
Patrick Cantlay (+2500 to win … +500 Top 5 … +225 Top 10)
Collin Morikawa (+2000 to win … +400 Top 5 … +200 Top 10)

First Round Leader Bets –
Jordan Spieth +3000
Justin Rose +5000

I am a square when it comes to golf…

I like Tiger to make the cut for a prop, but let’s also toss in Bryson DeChambeau to miss the cut at +142…. he’s hurt, playing awful golf and still getting crushed for his Saudi League stance

Winners:
– Brooks Koepka 19/1, +140 top 10, +320 top 5
– Scottie Scheffler 15/1, +130 top 10, +270 top 5
– Rory 19/1, +175 top 10, +360 top 5

Give me Rahm, Brooks or Scottie to lead after Day 1

Doug Ottewill

Note: Doug likes to keep things as simple as possible. He doesn’t mess around with tricky prop bets or hoping for someone to finish top 5 only to see them come in sixth. Doug likes winners, so Doug only picks winners.

Jon Rahm – +1200
Dustin Johnson – +1500
Bryson DeChambeau (just for Dan) – +500

Dan Mohrmann

Winners: Going with big names is always trendy. From that crop I like Justin Thomas (+1300) or Jon Rahm (+1200). Scotty Scheffler (+1500) isn’t quite a “big name” yet despite being the No. 1 player in the world but he can putt which is crucial at Augusta. I like him as well.

Top 10: Jordan Spieth (+175) is playing really bad golf right now, but he somehow pulls it together when it comes the Master’s. He could very easily make is way toward the top of the leaderboard this week. Cam Smith (+140) has been very consistent of late and he has a history of playing well at Augusta. The other top 10 I like is Xander Schauffele (+185). He has finished in the top three in two of the last three Master’s. His game seems to line up with the course very well.

Fun prop: Part of the fun with betting golf in my mind is taking guys to miss the cut. There are plenty of unlikeable guys out there so profiting off their misfortunes can be great as a sports fan. I have a two-leg parlay of Bryson DeChambeau and Billy Horschel to miss the cut at +710. There may not be two more unlikeable guys in the field than these two clowns so making a little money if they both exit early is the ultimate win/win for me. And if Bryson misses the cut, Doug essentially lit money on fire so there’s an added bonus.
