Travis Hunter has become a star at the college level with the Colorado Buffaloes.

He’s a two-way beast, playing both cornerback and wide receiver, which is basically unheard of in today’s game.

As he enters his senior season with the Buffs, many are wondering where he’ll play in the NFL. And Hunter said he would like to stay in Colorado.

Travis Hunter wants to play for Denver Broncos

Hunter has been a bit of a Twitch star for a while now, and on a not-so recent stream he discussed where he’d like to play in the NFL.

While he says the 49ers are his favorite team—and they’re certainly a Super Bowl contender currently—he’d like to stay in Colorado, with the Broncos.

For those of us based in Colorado, it makes sense he’d love to stay here. There are 300-plus days of sunshine, friendly people, and Denver Broncos fans are second to none.

Besides the fanbase, the Broncos are one of the most storied franchises in the NFL. They’ve played in eight Super Bowls, won three, and now have the richest ownership group in the league.

While Denver is down right now, Sean Payton is looking to rebuild the team in a hurry. He’s already rebuilt the wide receiver room, although that group is likely to continue to be in flux with Courtland Sutton’s contract situation still being hammered out.

Hunter can play both ways, but scouts are expecting him to play wideout in the NFL. And for any young player, getting to learn and grow under Payton would be a great experience. He has a longtime reputation as an offensive genius, so there’s little doubt he could get the most out of Hunter at the next level.

Plus, the way things are lining up, the Broncos are expected to be one of the worst teams in the league in 2024. That means, it’s likely they’ll have a top-5 pick.

What player wouldn’t want to go that high in the NFL Draft?

Last year, Hunter had 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns. They were solid numbers, especially considering not only that he played both ways, but that he missed three games due to injury.

Of course, he could play cornerback in the NFL, but former star Charles Woodson believes he’ll play receiver. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders says he’ll have to play both ways in the league.

“NFL got a problem. What you gonna draft him as? And… he’s gotta play both ways. ‘Cause he has value on both sides of the ball,” Sanders said.

Ultimately, whatever team drafts Hunter will choose where he plays, but Denver could use help on both sides of the ball currently.
