It’s been over a month since Trevor Siemian suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder that forced him out of a game and to miss the subsequent week, and he’s yet to fully heal.

Even with four starts in between, Siemian is still dealing with the pain.

“It’s hard for me to say,” Siemian said on Wednesday. “I feel like I’m getting better. Again, I’m not the only one playing with a few dings, so it’s just part of the deal and ‘Greek’ [head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos] is doing a good job with me in the training room. I’m taking it one day at a time, and I’m getting better.”

If he really is feeling the lingering effects of the injury, it would make sense. Prior to landing on his shoulder, he was completing 67 percent of his passes. After landing on his shoulder, he’s been completing 55 percent of his passes.

That’s a significant drop off, and if you’re looking for any silver lining, it’s that an upcoming week of rest could get Siemian, and the offense, back on the right track.

“He needs this break we have coming next week,” Gary Kubiak said of Siemian. “He’s pushed through it and done a hell of a job from that standpoint. Obviously a good break will help him, too.”

Since Siemian went down with that injury, the Denver Broncos offense hasn’t been the same, and it’s forced them to lose two of their last four games.

Let’s just hope it’s not too late once Siemian gets back to full health.
