A lot of Broncos have left Denver this offseason, but here’s one the fans may actually be happy about.

Davis was traded to Denver midway through the 2015 season after nearly a decade with the San Francisco 49ers, where he had 18 receptions for 194 yards on 30 targets — all of which came before Week 16.

And as every Broncos fan knows, Davis’ lack of opportunities in the final few weeks of the season and through the postseason weren’t a result of injury or bad luck; he was relegated to the bench for a handful of key, game-changing drops during the Broncos’ losses to Oakland and Pittsburgh.

As Troy Renck of the Denver Post reported, John Elway and the Broncos had no intention of bringing Davis back for a second year.

Going forward, it looks as if Denver’s tight end position is in the hands of Jeff Heuerman, the second-year player out of Ohio State who missed his entire rookie season with a torn ACL.
