The Denver Broncos defense has every right to be frustrated.

For two years, they’ve carried this franchise, to a Super Bowl and back, and they’re getting tired of doing all the heavy lifting; the offense has to start carrying their fair share if they want to repeat as champions.

So far this season, though, that has not been the case, as Denver’s offense has been one of the most anemic in the league, forcing the defense to (arguably) do more than they did last year.

And yet, through it all, the team has remained unified.

Well, until Sunday night, maybe.

After the Denver defense forced a three-and-out from the Chiefs offense in the fourth quarter, handing the ball back to Trevor Siemian and company with 12:29 left down six, Jordan Norwood muffed the ensuing punt, giving Kansas City the ball back near mid field.

Aqib Talib was not happy about it, and he let Norwood know it.

The Broncos would go on to force another three-and-out from the Chiefs, but the message was sent: get it together.

From that point on, the Broncos offense would go on to score 17 points on their next three drives, looking more explosive than they have all season. And while it wasn’t enough to earn the win, it was a positive sign.

They’ll need more of that as the team enters the most-important stretch of their season.
