Brock Osweiler on Wednesday was named the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos in their Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Osweiler steps in for Trevor Siemian, who struggled over his last three starts – all Denver losses.

It will be Osweiler’s second stint as the starting quarterback in Denver. The 2012 second-round draft pick by the Broncos started seven games in relief of the injured Peyton Manning in 2015, helping lead Denver to a No. 1 seed in the AFC before Manning returned midway through a Week 17 win over the Chargers.

Denver is 3-4 after four consecutive losses, including back-to-back division losses to the Chargers (Denver’s first shutout in nearly 25 years) and the division-leading Chiefs.

Now in his second stint with Denver after signing with the Texas as a free agent in 2016, then being traded to and eventually cut by the Cleveland Browns, Osweiler met with the media on Wednesday as the Broncos starting quarterback (again).
