The Denver Broncos are in the desert, having traveled to Arizona on Wednesday in advance of their preseason finale with the Arizona Cardinals. The “dress rehearsal” may be over, but there’s still plenty to watch in this final exhibition game before the regular season begins, especially at quarterback. Jake Marsing and Ryan Greene of 5280 Sports Network preview.

Broncos rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch will start the year at No. 2 on the depth chart behind Trevor Siemian, but he’ll have the entire game Thursday to show head coach Gary Kubiak just how much he’s progressed in his first NFL preseason. Greene says he is excited to see Lynch take first-quarter snaps and see how he can lead the offense from the first play of the game.

Marsing has been impressed with Lynch so far in the preseason when he’s gone off script – scrambling and playing outside the pocket. He wants to see what Lynch can do with a little more structure and how he handles passing from the pocket.
