While much of Broncos Country has been debating whether Trevor Siemian is the right choice at quarterback*, fantasy experts say he’s “the obvious choice” for owners heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Saints.

*Head coach Gary Kubiak assured folks on Monday that he’s sticking with his QB

“The reason we like Siemian,” Tyler Jacobs of 120 Sports says, with “Devontae Booker struggling to run the football, if they’re going to score points to keep up with Drew Brees it’s likely going to be through Siemian’s arm.”

“I definitely think it’s going to be through Siemian’s arm,” Eric Edholm agrees. “Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders – great plays in your season-long league this week. This is a great matchup for any quarterback and it’s an even better matchup when they get it in the Super Dome.

“It’s just a great place to play. It’s a fast track. It’s indoors [with] no weather to worry about. It’s a great place for any passing game to go to.”

Edholm predicts a big game from Saints quarterback Drew Brees, despite facing a Denver pass defense that is allowing a league-best 183 yards per game. He believes Brees will be the first quarterback this season to put up big numbers against Denver, primarily because the game is being played in New Orleans. That means the Denver offense will have to keep pace through the air.

“As Drew Brees goes,” Edholm says, “Trevor Siemian and the Broncos offense is going to have to go, or at least attempt to go. I think we see a big game for Trevor Siemian.”

A big game for Siemian would be welcome news for fantasy owners and Broncos fans alike. Since Week 1, Siemian has seen his completion percentage steadily decline every week (minus the Tampa Bay game in which he attempted just seven passes before leaving with injury). Despite the falling completion rate, Siemian’s passing yardage has increased every week over the past three weeks and last week he had two passing touchdowns in a disappointing loss to the Raiders.

The Broncos (6-3) and Saints (4-4) kick off in New Orleans at 11 a.m. MT on Sunday.
