The 2018 NFL Trade Deadline is less than 24 hours away, and one of the biggest questions around Broncos Country is whether Denver will move on from Demaryius Thomas. The veteran wide receiver had played his entire career with the Broncos, but has recently been the center of a variety of different trade rumors, including potentially with the New England Patriots.

Michael Giardi of the NFL Network reported on Sunday that the Patriots were interested in making a move for Thomas, and although head coach Vance Joseph would not confirm that the team is shopping him, D.T. told Broncos insider, Mike Klis that he believes there is a 50 percent chance that he is traded for before 2:00 p.m. MT on Tuesday.

On Monday night, the rumors of Thomas being shipped out to New England began to heat up again when reports of the Patriots disciplining wide receiver Josh Gordon surfaced. Although Gordon’s incident and Thomas’ situation are technically unrelated, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network pointed out that the uncertainty of Gordon’s future could further influence New England to make a move for another veteran wide receiver.

Considering Thomas’ time with the Broncos is all but guaranteed to come to an end after this season anyways, the Patriots may decide to call up John Elway and make an offer. New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels drafted Thomas during his short stint as head coach of the Broncos, and could reunite with No. 88 in Foxborough, MA.
