Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph announced in his Monday afternoon press conference that the team will not punish Aqib Talib for his actions in an altercation with Oakland Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

The brawl began when Crabtree forced Talib out of bounds and onto the ground during a routine running play by the Raiders. The two continued to fight before teammates jumped in, resulting in a brawl. Both players wound up finding each other again after being separated during the scuffle, throwing more punches. Talib reportedly also broke a necklace that Crabtree was wearing during the scuffle. Both players were disqualified and removed from that game, along with Raiders guard Gabe Jackson, who knocked down an official during the brawl.

Broncos’ cornerback Chris Harris Jr. suggested after the game that the altercation was the byproduct of the previous play in which Crabtree “sucker-punched” Harris, forcing him out of the game and to be attended to by Broncos’ training staff for the following play.

The NFL has yet to announce any punishment against any of the players disqualified during the incident, although Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Monday afternoon that suspensions are possible stemming from the altercation.
