It can be a lonely place to live, out there on a limb. Especially if you’re going out there to poke a bear. That’s how Lionel Bienvenu and Arran Andersen categorized life for MHS columnist James Merilatt on a day where Merilatt had the audacity to suggest that the Denver Broncos would be better off with Peyton Manning as their quarterback as soon as he’s healthy enough to play.

In his Monday column, Merilatt made claims such as…

“Yes, [Brock Osweiler is] 3-0 since taking over as the starter. And granted, he led a terrific comeback win over New England just eight days ago. But yesterday, in a 17-3 victory over the Chargers, Osweiler demonstrated that he’s nothing more than a stopgap until Manning returns.”

And…

“The [Broncos] survived for three weeks without their marquee quarterback; trying to extend the streak would be pushing their luck.”

While Brock Mania sweeps Denver, Merilatt seems to be one of the few who’s clamoring for the winningest quarterback in Broncos history (percentage-wise) to retake the reins as the team enters the home stretch.

Mile High Sports editor-in-chief Doug Ottewill joined Bienvenu and Andersen on Monday to offer his thoughts on Merliatt’s column and the Broncos quarterback situation. Where did those three come down on the hottest topic in Denver sports?
