The Denver Broncos are coming off one of the biggest regular season wins in franchise history after beating the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in a game that saw owner Pat Bowlen honored and inducted into the team’s Ring of Fame. It’s hard to follow that up. Especially traveling to a 3-5 Colts team, who by the way are tied for the lead in the pitiful AFC South.

The guys from The Big Show on Mile High Sports AM 1340 made note of that very fact and wondered if Indianapolis doesn’t set up to be a letdown for Peyton Manning and the Broncos. To boot, Kent Erickson wonders if the Colts’ fourth-quarter comeback against the undefeated Panthers – even though they ultimately fell in overtime – won’t inspire them to take it to the also undefeated Broncos for a full four quarters.

Benjamin Allbright thinks the Colts are a team too much in turmoil after firing offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton following the loss and thinks the Broncos will build off the momentum from the big victory over Green Bay, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Benny Bash was quick to remind them of “eggs” the Broncos have laid against teams like San Diego and St. Louis during the Peyton Manning era. He says New England won’t lay any eggs this year, so if Denver wants to host a playoff game, they need to be at their best against Andrew Luck and the Colts.

The Broncos have more than perfection on the line Sunday. Manning can break two major NFL records (one of which will require a win), but with a matchup with the Patriots on the horizon that could potentially pit two 10-0 teams against one another, the Broncos can’t afford to take this game against the Colts for granted.

That, plus wanting a little redemption after last year’s playoff loss, were all reasons the guys think the Broncos will come to play. Catch their full discussion in the podcast below…
